[englisch/amerikanisch, bə'rɔk dʒæz], bezeichnet die Verwendung von Musiziervorlagen aus der Barockzeit, meist von Johann Sebastian Bach, im Jazz; begann in der zweiten Hälfte der Dreißigerjahre im Swing unter dem Motto »Jazz Goes Baroque« mit Benny Goodmans (1909-1986) »Bach Goes to Town« (1937) und der Einspielung von »Concerto en ré de Johann Sebastian Bach« (1937) durch die Geiger Stéphane Grappelli (1908-1997) und Eddie South (1904-1962) und setzte sich in den Sechzigerjahren mit den »Play Bach«-Adaptionen (Adaption) des Jacques-Loussier-Trios sowie der Swingle Singers fort.
